Max Verstappen insists that a repeat of the intensity of 2021 season could shorten his career following his enthralling battle with Lewis Hamilton: ‘I don’t think you can last a long time in F1 like that’

Max Verstappen believes that his F1 career could be shortened if he is involved in another season of the same intensity as the 2021 campaign. Following an enthralling battle with Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen was crowned world champion after triumphing in Abu Dhabi in controversial circumstances in the final race of the campaign. Verstappen described the season as ‘amazing’ but indicated that such a high octane approach isn’t sustainable in the long term. Verstappen told CarNext: ‘I don’t need to improve on this. Race director Michael Masi subsequently allowed only some of the cars between Hamilton and Verstappen to overtake the safety car.
