Bagnaia handed three-place grid penalty in Misano

After a briefing with the FIM MotoGP™ Stewards on Friday morning after MotoGP™ FP1, title-chasing Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) has been handed a three-place grid penalty for the Gran Premio Gryfyn di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. The Ducati rider will start three places further back from his qualifying position after obstructing riders during FP1. The Italian was adjudged to have impeded Alex Marquez (LCR Honda Castrol) in the opening Free Practice session of the weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli while riding slow on the racing line, causing a dangerous situation for other riders. Qualifying will now be absolutely crucial for Pecco on home turf as he aims to continue his run of three-straight wins in the premier class. The Italian is the in-form rider with three wins in a row and Misano is a favoured stomping ground too.
