WRC3: Rossel snatches late lead

Yohan Rossel moved into the WRC3 lead after final stage drama ruled out his closest challenger at Rally Italia Sardegna on Friday night. The Citroën C3 Rally2 star, who currently holds a 34 point lead in the championship, spent much of the day in a fierce battle with Kajetan Kajetanowicz. The lead changed hands several times and, at one point during the afternoon, less than 4sec separated the top three. However, just 1km from the end of the final Erula – Tula speed test, disaster struck. The car was undamaged, but the mishap gifted the overnight lead to Rossel. The setback cost over a minute, and he ended Friday 2min 27.7sec off the leading pace.
