WRC2: Mikkelsen in control after Østberg setback

Andreas Mikkelsen is set for a return to winning ways with a safe lead in WRC2 after rival Mads Østberg hit trouble on Saturday at Rally Estonia. Mikkelsen, driving a Škoda Fabia Rally2 for the formidable Toksport team, started the day with a 36.5sec advantage over Nikolay Gryazin. However, when Gryazin rolled his Volkswagen Polo at Peipsiääre, Østberg became the main threat. Østberg was giving his all to catch back time loss caused by a puncture on Friday and the commitment was reflected in the times. The 20-year-old swapped places with M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally2 pilot Adrien Fourmaux multiple times, but Fourmaux spun in SS14 and Bulacia had the upper-hand by just 4.7sec.
