All eyes will be on Silverstone for the British Grand Prix this weekend with a groundbreaking new version of qualifying being trialled. This is the most significant change to Formula One in the modern era, so here’s everything you need to know ahead of the first Sprint in the sport’s history. At Silverstone, that equates to 17 laps with the race set to take around 25-30 minutes. This is the point where teams are not allowed to make any further changes to their cars ahead of the race. Pierre Gasly of AlphaTauri believes judgment needs to be reserved until more than one of the race weekends with the Sprint has taken place. Friday, 6:00pm – Qualifying (Q1,2,3 format to decide places for The Sprint. ‘I enjoy the qualifying on Saturday and having only one single race during the weekend.’. So essentially Silverstone will be watched with plenty of interest to see how the Sprint pans out.
