When you first lay your eyes on Cadillac's 'Le Monstre,' what year would you guess it competed at Le Mans? The 1970s perhaps? No. Incredibly, this competed in 1950. Cadillac was hugely popular with the French when arriving at Le Mans, and not because of 'Le Monstre's' striking design, but just five and a half years earlier, the Americans had liberated the town of Le Mans, and Cadillac was the first American competitors since the war.
