INDIANAPOLIS – All of Wednesday’s track activity at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 106th Indianapolis 500 has been cancelled because of heavy rain. The last time a full day of practice was washed out by rain was May 17, 2016. Practice for the May 29 race will resume Thursday at 12 noon and run through 6 p.m. The heavy rain moved in from Missouri and Illinois overnight, but Wednesday morning was fairly dry until the scheduled start of practice. Tuesday’s opening day of practice was held under bright sunshine and cloudless blue skies with warm temperatures. 51 Dale Coyne Racing with RWR Honda ran the fastest time of the day with a lap at 228.939 miles per hour.
