‘We will brush ourselves down and come out fighting’: Christian Horner vows Red bull will bounce back after summer break with Max Verstappen having fallen behind Lewis Hamilton after another unfortunate race

Red Bull principal Christian Horner has vowed to ‘come out fighting’ with Mercedes after the summer break having seen Max Verstappen fall behind Lewis Hamilton in the championship fight. Verstappen was in control of the title race until Turn 9 at Silverstone when he was sent careering into the wall at 180mph and another hugely frustrating display, which saw his race ruined by Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas on the opening corner of the first lap, leaves him six behind Hamilton. But Horner is refusing to give up the fight of Red Bull winning their first drivers’ championship since Sebastian Vettel in 2014. ‘Again, taken out by a Mercedes and that is not what you want,’ Verstappen moaned. ‘We go again after the break and I will try my best and I hope my car is competitive.’. Verstappen added: ’We have had a lot of freak moments which have cost us a lot of points.
