‘We NEED to step it up’: Max Verstappen calls on Red Bull to improve in the final races of the season as they try to catch Mercedes – who are 36 points clear in the constructors’ standings

Max Verstappen claims Red Bull need to ‘step up’ for the rest of the season if they are to challenge Mercedes in the Formula One constructors’ standings. After Sunday’s Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul, the Dutch driver currently leads the way in the drivers’ title race but his Red Bull side are still 36 points behind Mercedes in the team table. A good start to this current campaign gave the impression that Verstappen and Red Bull had the fastest car this season. But both the Dutchman and Red Bull allowed Hamilton and Mercedes back into the race in the summer and autumn months, which has created a topsy-turvy title race as the final weeks of the season await.
