SKY SPORTS F1 presenter Karun Chandhok was lucky to escape injury after his car burst into flames during a race. The explosion caused the car to spin out but Chandhok, 39, managed to maintain enough control to steer onto to grass and out of danger. Reflecting on the incident, Chandhok wrote on Twitter: “Lucky to get away with that with nothing more than a melted boot. “Such a shame to end a race in my dream GT car like that but happy to get out ok!”. “Most importantly just really glad he’s ok but I have to say that save, car control and presence of mind to quickly get it off circuit and onto the grass was IMPRESSIVE👏🏼.
