Sebastian Vettel could return to Formula 1 as a driver – or even a team boss. That is the view of Dr Helmut Marko, a top Red Bull official who as head of Red Bull’s driver program brought a then teenaged Vettel onto the grid some 15 years ago. Abu Dhabi was a long and emotional farewell weekend for the now 35-year-old quadruple world champion, with the event also attended by Vettel’s father Norbert. Ultimately, though, the Abu Dhabi 2022 finale will largely be remembered for being Vettel’s much-celebrated last grand prix weekend – for now at least. Marko also thinks it’s not out of the question that Vettel may return as a driver.
