Two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso refuses to rule out driving a V8 Supercar at Bathurst after taking one of the Aussie race cars for a spin at Albert Park

Two-time Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso has praised the power and thrill of V8 Supercars after taking one for a test drive at Victoria’s Albert Park circuit – and he refused to rule out switching to the all-Australian racing class after his time in F1. There are some amazing races here, Bathurst being the most popular one. Part of Formula One’s Alpine team, Alonso has raced since 2001. The 2022 Australian Grand Prix marks 21 years since Alonso’s first ever start in Formula One. The Supercars are in Albert Park for two qualifying races, held before the Australian Grand Prix, which begins Sunday afternoon Australian time.
