It appears that one of them is in fact not Porsche, after fellow Volkswagen-owned carmaker Audi signed up for the new engine rules from 2026. Red Bull baulked at the idea of losing its famed independence, but could now be shaping up to pursue a different route by collaborating with Ford for its new Red Bull Powertrains operation. Strengthening the Ford rumours is Red Bull’s decision to launch its 2023 Formula 1 campaign in New York early in February. “We signed an agreement with a supplier for an engine,” GM president Mark Reuss confirmed. If they’re credible and they mean business, then we should let new teams come in.”.
