Through the Lens: Iowa Speedway offered patriotic backdrop

To close out 2019, INDYCAR is offering a series of reflections to this year’s NTT IndyCar Series season, a group of images known as Through the Lens.
During the Iowa 300 weekend at Iowa Speedway, staff photographer Joe Skibinski captured this masterpiece of the U.S. flag as Indiana native Conor Daly drove Carlin’s No. 59 Gallagher Chevrolet down the backstretch.
Another U.S. driver, Josef Newgarden of Team Penske, won the race in the No. 2 Hitachi Chevrolet, although the victory was earned well past midnight due to inclement weather that arrive pre-race.
The NTT IndyCar Series returns to Iowa Speedway in 2020 with an event set for July 17-18.
