Team Silverstone had a mixed 1994 Formula 1 season, but one of the high points would be Jordanās Rubens Barrichello creating Formula 1 history at the Belgian Grand Prix. āAt first I told them it was too risky for slicks,ā said Rubens. In the build-up to the session, the track was dry but rain soon followed and helped the team seal pole, with 22-year-old Barrichello becoming the youngest polesitter in Formula 1 history. Team-mate Eddie Irvine lined up in P4 to cap a promising Qualifying for Jordan, but the race proved cruel. While the race didnāt go to plan, Jordan had made history as its pole position was the first for the team as a constructor.
