The insane amount of money you’ll need to fork out for food, drink and merchandise at the Australian Grand Prix – and it’s bad news for fans in search of a sandwich

The Australian Grand Prix is breaking attendance records, with an expected crowd of 130,000 to show up at Albert Park on Sunday – but F1 fans who are feeling the pinch of the cost of living crisis might want to think twice about showing up. If you are looking for a bite to eat, a chicken sandwich will set you back $19. A hotdog will cost you $14, while some fries will set you back $9. If it’s a drink you’re after, Heineken cost $11 and soft drinks are $6 – which is in line with prices in Melbourne at footy ground. Ferrari fans will be disappointed to find out that their merch is similarly priced. A Ferrari raincoat is priced at $350, while a hoodie costs $180.
