Bouncing back from a spectacular crash in the season-opening Rally Monte-Carlo to finish on the podium in Sweden less than a month later has earned Ott Tänak the WRC’s 2020 Performance of the Year award. When the WRC season moved on to Sweden three weeks later, Tänak and Jarveoja were back competing – putting their Monte fright behind them to finish second behind Welshman Evans. Only afterwards did Tänak reveal the lingering pain from the crash and how he won a race against time to be fit to compete in Sweden. Tänak will be back behind the wheel of a Hyundai i20 when the season starts in Monte-Carlo from 23-26 January.
