Johnny Herbert and Paul di Resta’s axing from Sky Sports F1 are due to the broadcaster looking to trim their bloated punditry team. Herbert, 58, had been part of the original team of pundits when the broadcaster first gained the rights for the 2012 season and has been a mainstay for over the last decade. Herbert confirmed publicly he would not be part of Sky’s team on Instagram with a picture of all the 2022 members captioned, ‘going to miss the team’. Herbert has also confirmed his departure, telling LastLapLucy: ‘I’ll be around but I’ll not be at Sky this year unfortunately. I’ll be at Silverstone for sure, and the Monaco Grand Prix. I’ll be enjoying life on the track as well as life off the track.’.
