Checo and Lance will line up in P11 and P15 for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola on Sunday following a challenging day on the debut of Formula 1’s two-day format trial. Lance would finish practice in P10 after his best time of 1.16.082 nudged him ahead of Checo’s best of 1.16.109 for P11. Checo would post a 1.15.407 for P9 in the final minutes, while Lance admirably negotiated traffic in the first sector to post a 1.15.822 time for P15 that ensured both cars made it into Q2. Unfortunately, it was a difficult day and especially challenging with just 90 minutes of practice before qualifying. A deleted time for track limits in Q2 didn’t help either. “The reality is that we’re starting further back than we would want. “Lance was caught out by track limits in Q2, but we have not looked especially competitive today.
