Rally Finland turns 70 with fast and furious itinerary

Rally Finland (1 – 3 October) will turn back the clock to celebrate its 70th anniversary with a high-pressure sprint-style event that recreates the spirit of the inaugural rally in 1951. Saturday’s marathon leg features well over half the competitive distance, with the event coming to a high-flying finale on Sunday afternoon in the famous Ruuhimäki stage. “Although we’re running over three days rather than four, we’ve ensured there will be as many stages and competitive kilometres as possible. Friday October 1 – Stages: 6 (SS1-6) Stage distance: 89.42km Liaison distance: 203.12km. The 70th anniversary Rally Finland has moved to early October to give fans the best possible chance to follow the high-speed … Saturday October 2 – Stages: 9 (SS7-15) Stage distance: 151.95km Liaison distance: 422.21km. Sections of the new 13.49km Arvaja date back to 1994, while Patajoki is another new stage. Sunday October 3 – Stages: 4 (SS16-19) Stage distance: 45.74km Liaison distance: 146.79km.
