Rain Delays Carb Day Festivities

INDIANAPOLIS — The start of Friday’s final round of practice for the 106th Indianapolis 500, known as Carb Day has been delayed for more than an hour, but cars are starting to roll out onto pit lane at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Track drying continues, but it appears the final two-hour practice session may begin within the hour. Early morning rain followed by persistent mist, had delayed the start of the 11 a.m. Eastern Time practice session for the 33-car starting lineup that will compete in Sunday’s Indy 500. More rain is about three hours away, so it is IndyCar’s intention to get the final round of practice completed on Friday.
