Kenyan hero Onkar Rai has talked of the boost African rallying will receive after local drivers starred at last weekend’s Safari Rally Kenya. “The boost for rallying here is massive,” said Volkswagen Polo R5 driver Rai. Rai added that it wasn’t just going to be local crews who benefited, with Kenya’s neighbours likely to be keen on a slice of WRC action. “I’m sure many others will try to come to the table. “The team’s worked hard, the sponsors have worked hard and this is a great result. This event is about 80 per cent tougher than what our normal [African] events would be like.
