Max Verstappen won the Hungarian Grand Prix in his Red Bull, Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes GP was secon, 7.834 seconds behind. At lap 10 Russell leads Sainz by 2.3 seconds, followed by Leclerc (3.4s), Norris (10.0s), Hamilton (10.8s), Verstappen (11.8s), Perez (14.3s), Ocon (17.4s), Alonso (19.3s) and Ricciardo (22.6s),. On lap 15 Norris pits and changes to medium tyres and rejoins in 16th. On lap 18 Sainz pits from the lead for medium tyres and rejoins sixth. At lap 25 Russell leads Leclerc by 1.1 seconds, ahead of Sainz (3.9s). On lap 27 Leclerc takes a look at passing Russell in the lead but stays behind. On lap 31 Leclerc passes Russell on the outside of turn 1 and takes the lead. On lap 54 Russell passes Leclerc into the first turn for second place.
