Lewis Hamilton won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in his Mercedes GP, 3.871 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc in his Ferrari. Hamilton closes the drivers championship gap to 8 points behind Verstappen. Hamilton closes to under a second and sets another fast lap at 1m32.291s. On lap 30 Leclerc pits from the lead for hard tyres and rejoins still in the lead. At lap 30 Leclerc leads Bottas by 7.7 seconds, followed by Norris (12.0s), Hamilton (13.8s), Ricciardo (28.4s), Sainz (29.9s), Alonso (42.4s), Stroll (43.2s), Perez (44.5s) and Gasly (45.9s) in tenth place. At lap 40 Leclerc leads Hamilton by 8.1 seconds, followed by Bottas (9.6s), Norris (18.8s), Ricciardo (36.1s), Sainz (36.7s), Alonso (57.9s), Stroll (59.0s), Gasly (1m00.4s) and Ocon (1m01.6s) in tenth place. On lap 44 Hamilton sets another fast lap at 1m29.801s, and is 4.4 second behind Leclerc, and again the next lap at 1m29.699s.
