Race Day Guide: North Wilkesboro Speedway

Five days remain until a full field of NASCAR Cup Series drivers line up on the aged asphalt at North Wilkesboro Speedway to contend this year’s All-Star Race. The Cup Series will take to the track at 4:05 p.m. for practice, including both All-Star and Open entries. It will be a quick turnaround for Truck Series drivers, as the Tyson 250 will commence at 1:30 p.m. The race is 250 laps, with stage breaks at lap 70, 140 and 250. The evening program will include the Cup Series heat races — both 60 laps. The second heat race, which will set outside row starting positions, is scheduled for approximately 8:15 p.m. Drivers will begin on sticker tires, with one additional set available in the pit box. It will be 100 laps, with a competition break on or around lap 40. Drivers will start on sticker tires, with one additional set available in the pit box. The second event on Sunday is the long-anticipated All-Star Race, starting at 8 p.m. The 200-lap race will involve a competition break on or around lap 100. Drivers will start on sticker tires, with three additional sets available in the pit box.
