Puig: “We proved our bike has some good potential”

Thanks to the brilliance of Alex Rins (LCR Honda Castrol) in Austin, a Honda rider stood on the top step of a MotoGP™ podium for the first time since the 2021 Emilia-Romagna GP. Reflecting on the weekend at the Circuit of The Americas, Repsol Honda Team Manager Alberto Puig admitted it was a “very positive” weekend for the factory, while Rins’ win proved that Honda’s 2023 RC213V has some good potential within it after a few months of some questioning the Japanese manufacturer’s speed. “Light at the end of the tunnel”: LCR toast Rins & a century 16/04/2023. A Honda bike won the GP, this is the objective we set out with each weekend. Certainly, this weekend’s results will have pleased him, we still have to improve the bike but there is potential.”.
