Ohio Racing Legend Art Ball, 85

TIFFIN, Ohio — Legendary Ohio stock car driver Art Ball died Oct. 20. Art was a legend on the dirt track circuit for more than 50 years, driving No. Ball raced hobby stocks, late models, dirt trucks and sprint cars. He won 301 features and 30 track championships during his career that lasted until he was 77 years old. He was inducted into the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame in 2009 and the National Late Model Hall of Fame in 2019. Ball was recognized prior to Tuesday (Oct. 24) night’s race at Fremont Speedway and he will be laid to rest on Oct. 26.
