Motorsports Writer Don Hubbard, 86

OWOSSO, Okla. — Longtime SPEED SPORT writer Don Hubbard died May 10 at the age of 86. During that span he became a successful journalist bringing New York and Oklahoma local racing reports to the national stage. Hubbard wrote the popular Sooner Circles column in National Speed Sport News and also wrote race reports for NSSN and other motorsports publications. Don was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Everett Hubbard, his wife Eleanore and daughter Cheryl. Don is survived by his three sons, Donnie Hubbard and Bobby Hubbard, both of Owasso and Brian Hubbard and wife Kellie of Apopka, Florida.
