Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Joan Mir started his Shell Malaysian Grand Prix Sunday in the best possible manner by topping MotoGP™ Warm Up and putting an end to Petronas Yamaha SRT’s Sepang dominance as neither Fabio Quartararo nor Franco Morbidelli ended up fastest for the first time this weekend.
In fact, the top two didn’t feature a Petronas Yamaha SRT machine as Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Maverick Viñales managed to get closest to the Spanish rookie, eventually ending up a quarter of a second adrift of Mir.
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi was seventh having touched the grass as he entered the back straight in the closing stages.
