The son of F1 legend Michael Schumacher had long hoped to become a regular driver, however he appears to have had a change of heart. Schumacher, 24, is a reserve driver for Mercedes but has struggled to get a chance behind Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The report claims that the German driver could join the Alpine group and participate in the 24-hour race in Le Mans, France. Alpine Motorsport vice president Bruno Famin is believed to have contacted Schumacher about taking a test drive. His former team-mate Johnny Herbert suggested that his friends do not hear much “positive news” about the retired driver.
