Michael Masi ‘is set to land his first job since Formula One exit with former race director in line to return to V8 Supercars’ as Australian looks to move on from controversial Abu Dhabi finale

Michael Masi is reportedly set to land a new job following his Formula One exit with the Australian in line to make a return with V8 Supercars. Masi, F1’s former race director, returned to Australia earlier this year following his role in the controversial finish to last year’s decider in Abu Dhabi, where Max Verstappen snatched the title from Lewis Hamilton. Supercars insist that no decision has been finalised, but the same outlet claim that Masi is in the mix to return to the organisation he worked for before making the switch to Formula One. Last month it was announced that Masi had decided to leave F1’s governing body, the FIA after he was removed as the race director prior to the 2022 season owing to the nature of last year’s decider.
