Mercedes targeting fightback as pace goes unrewarded in Round 8

Mercedes-Benz EQ found itself in a promising position heading into the Berlin E-Prix, Round 8 with Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck de Vries looking to capitalise on their qualifying pace from fourth and eighth on the grid, respectively. “Looking at what happened late on, I am convinced that the race would have swung our way and we would have put in a super strong finish as we were in a very strong position energy-wise. After a busy opening 10 minutes of the race, De Vries found himself embroiled towards the tail-end of that train of cars on the cusp of the points. Contact with Sims compounded things, and the young Dutchman held his hands up for an untidy race.
