Mercedes are considering challenging the FIA’s decision not to penalise Max Verstappen for running Lewis Hamilton off the road during the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Hamilton won with an incredible comeback drive to narrow the gap to title rival Verstappen to 14 points with three races left. He did so despite being shoved aside by the Dutchman in the second half of Sunday’s race. Verstappen’s elbows-out resistance was not referred to the stewards, a determination Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff called ‘laughable’. Mercedes are considering their options, with an insider telling Sportsmail: ‘It seems a very lenient adjudication and we are looking into it to see if we want to take it further.’.
