Mercedes aiming to close gap to the front after strong debut season in Formula E

Mercedes-Benz EQ was a new entrant for the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship, becoming part of the most competitive line up in the series’ history which included, for the first time in a global single-seater championship, the four German motorsport giants – Porsche, Audi, BMW alongside the Silver Arrows themselves. To finish our first season with a one-two win is simply fantastic, and we couldn’t have asked for more. “Formula E is a tough and very competitive race series,” said Wolff. “The format makes it hard for any team to deliver consistent performances from weekend to weekend – and that challenge is bigger for a team in its first season. “Overall, we can be satisfied with how we finished our season and our final championship positions. “But we’ve also learned a huge amount through the ups and downs we had during this season. “That one-two was something that the team worked extremely hard for and they absolutely deserve it.
