Max Verstappen took pole position to the cheering delight of the partisan crowd at the Dutch Grand Prix. Next up are the two Mercedes drivers but they are slowed than the leading Red Bull in the first sector. Hamilton sets a purple middle sector but it’s Russell who crosses the line first and he goes third. Next up are the Mercedes as Russell goes third, before Hamilton beats him and Perez to go second. Perez improves on his second run to fourth, but not as much as Leclerc who goes second fastest after taking a fastest final sector to go just over a tenth down on Verstappen. Charles Leclerc is next but he is eight tenths down, but Carlos Sainz is a bit closer – just four tenths down on Verstappen. Charles Leclerc was fastest in this morning’s final practice – just 0.066 seconds ahead of George Russell in the Mercedes, followed by Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez.
