Two-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen is already preparing for life beyond the grid – but the Dutchman has encountered a potential road block in the form of Nike. A clothing brand was at the top of the list, but Nike feels his proposed name is too similar to their ‘Nike: Air Max’ footwear. As well as concerns around the name’s similarity, Nike are also up in arms over styling issues. The report states: ‘Both signs contain the word MAX, albeit in a different place.’. ‘In the trademarks invoked, the elements AIR and MAX have equal weight in the overall impression. ‘The goods in question (Nike and Max) are partly identical and partly similar.
