Martin on M. Marquez’ overtakes: “He was on the limit”

We’re fast running out of superlatives to describe the Australian GP, with seven different riders in contention until the final laps. Sunday’s race at Phillip Island seemed a case of what could have been though for Jorge Martin. Jorge Martin: “Finishing 0.8 off the victory is killing me” 16/10/2022. Martin specifically referenced some moves from Marquez during the race, saying the presence of the eight-time World Champion on his rear was cause for concern during a helter-skelter race. The Pramac Rider spun the fastest ever two-wheel lap around Phillip Island in Q2, earning him a third pole of the season. When questioned further about some of Marquez’ manoeuvres, Martin felt a few of them certainly pushed the boundaries of fair racing. The Pramac rider beat the MotoGP™ Legend’s nine-year Phillip Island record, with the previous holder present and offered his congratulations.
