Margeson To Chase $50,000 Showdown Prize

LAS VEGAS — Washington open-wheel racer Evan Margeson, who won the recent Pink Lady Classic at Idaho’s Meridian Speedway, is looking for another big payday with an entry in the Dec. 1-2 Open Wheel Showdown at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Margeson earned $30,000 for topping the Pink Lady Classic winged sprint car race and is one of the 65 pre-entered sprint cars for the $50,000 Shootout prize. The race for the win was between Open Wheel Showdown promoter Davey Hamilton Jr. and Margeson. He was super smooth and ripped off a hell of a lap,” Margeson said. Margeson raced midgets on dirt and asphalt extensively throughout his career along with selected winged sprint car starts on dirt. “I really like that track and I think it’ll make for some good racing,” Margeson said. To take on that kind of task is super cool,” Margeson said.
