Loeb’s WRC return: the arguments for and against

And Loeb’s experience – and experience of winning – is second to none in the WRC. M-Sport managing director Malcolm Wilson has made no bones about the fact that he would always have loved to have worked with Loeb. But Wilson’s discussions with the 47-year-old are born out of an understanding of what Loeb could bring in the future rather than any romantic notion of what went on in the past. Loeb apparently signed off from the WRC by putting his Hyundai i20 on the podium at last year’s Rally Turkey. It’ll be a decade since Loeb’s last title in 2022 and a decade since his last full-time WRC programme. It’s a classic argument between the here and now and the future.
