It’s proving to be the most thrilling Formula One championship battle in over 10 years as Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen continue to trade blows in a league of their own on the track. The Brit has won the race twice, in 2016 as well as its last running in 2019. In the two seasons in between where he didn’t win the race, he claimed two of his seven world championships. This isn’t necessarily a Red Bull stronghold but of the remaining five races, it will likely be Verstappen’s favourite. Up until last year, you would have stuck your mortgage on Mercedes winning this race, having dominated the venue since the turbo-hybrid era started in 2014. Not quite, last year’s qualifying and race placing of third were his worst at the circuit since 2013.
