Lewis Hamilton secures his 95th career pole position ahead of team-mate Valterri Bottas at Tuscan Grand Prix qualifying as late Ocon spin ends chances of a late shootout

Lewis Hamilton roared to his 95th pole position at the Tuscan Grand Prix. Hamilton had Esteban Ocon’s spin to thank for depriving Bottas of a chance to take pole. Until tomorrow… when we see if Hamilton can turn his 94th pole into a race victory!. One of those behind was Valtteri Bottas, who will feel he has missed a chance with Hamilton not improving. It is a 1:15.1 for Hamilton and he is on provisional pole!. Bottas is just 0.013s behind his team-mate – while Max Verstappen only a tenth off!. But Mercedes are now on their flying laps, with Hamilton and Bottas trying to find their rhythm. Hamilton has often pulled a result out of the bag when he needs to, but with Bottas practice results he will need to so again.
