Max Verstappen delivered home victory at the Dutch Grand Prix to extend his world championship lead – as Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes imploded. Verstappen immediately sliced through Hamilton on the restart. Russell, on the softs, nearly ran into the back of Lewis Hamilton!. And Mercedes – knowing Verstappen would now come out ahead of Hamilton and on fresher tyres – took the opportunity to pit Hamilton too. Verstappen out in the lead on hard tyres, Hamilton now out on faster, fresher tyres. Verstappen is leading, with Leclerc and Perez in second and third, but all those three will have to pit. Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and George Russell – who haven’t pitted yet – are in first and second, Verstappen hot on their heels in third. That will be good for those on the medium tyres like Lewis Hamilton… Leclerc is already more than a second behind Max Verstappen and therefore out of DRS range.
