Lewis Hamilton insists he is ‘NOT under pressure’ from title rival Max Verstappen despite failing to capitalise on the Dutchman’s puncture in Baku as championship heats up

A slightly defensive Lewis Hamilton insisted he is not feeling pressure from title rival Max Verstappen, and even claimed he was not at fault for the mishap that cost him possible victory in Azerbaijan a fortnight ago. While 10-time grand prix winner Gerhard Berger has suggested the threat posed by Verstappen, who leads by four points, is placing Hamilton under significant scrutiny. But Hamilton, speaking ahead of this weekend’s French Grand Prix, said: ‘Max wasn’t in the race at the time (in Azerbaijan) so I definitely wasn’t under pressure from him. ‘I don’t count it as a mistake and I don’t even know what the mistake before that was.’.
