Lewis Hamilton has ‘not been humiliated’ by Mercedes team-mate George Russell, claims Damon Hill following the seven-times world champion’s poor start to the season

Lewis Hamilton’s poor start to the season needs to be taken into context according to Damon Hill, who suggests the Brit’s concerning results so far do not reflect his performance. While Hill admits Russell should be praised for his strong performances, he believes Hamilton’s displays have not been as bad as many have made out. ‘He’s not humiliated Lewis in any way, I don’t think. I don’t see it like that, I think Lewis is maybe a little bit downhearted as well, and George is very keen to establish himself.’. Despite Mercedes’ worst start to a season since 2013, Hill believes the Silver Arrows still cannot be ruled out of a championship hunt.
