Lewis Hamilton set himself up for a record-breaking seventh British Grand Prix victory by taking pole position at Silverstone. Lewis Hamilton secured pole position for Sunday’s race at Silverstone with new track record. Hamilton has now set himself up for a record-breaking seventh British Grand Prix victory. Valtteri Bottas qualified in P2 to ensure that Mercedes got another front row lock-out. Red Bull driver Max Verstappen endured another qualifying session behind the Mercedes duo. But Hamilton then took control to make it his seventh British Grand Prix pole. Fellow Brit George Russell once again gave good account of himself by making it out of Q1 for the third consecutive race. Racing Point’s Lance Stroll impressed yet again as he qualified on the third row of the grid.
