Lewis Hamilton believes Mercedes have made big strides at the Spanish Grand Prix, and has backed the team to compete with Ferrari in Sunday’s race after finishing sixth in qualifying. Leclerc took pole on Saturday ahead of Max Verstappen, with Hamilton’s team-mate George Russell down in fourth. I think the Red Bulls look like they might be quickest, but we look like we could maybe compete with the Ferraris tomorrow and that is a big step for us.’. I am still struggling with the car and qualifying wasn’t great for me. ‘This car just doesn’t talk to Lewis in the way that he likes a car to talk to him,’ Brundle said.
