Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen COLLIDE during feisty start to the Brazilian Grand Prix… with F1 world champion slapped with five-second time penalty for hitting Mercedes rival

Max Verstappen has been hit with a five-second penalty after colliding with Lewis Hamilton at the Brazilian Grand Prix. However, In the aftermath of the collision, Hamilton told his race engineer that ‘that was no racing incident, mate’ with race chiefs agreeing and penalising the Dutchman for the incident. After engaging in fierce rivalry last season that concluded with one of the most dramatic and controversial races in the history of motorsport at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Hamilton and Verstappen had largely remained out of promozity to each other this year. Coupled with the five-second penalty the reigning champion was forced back into 17th.
