Formula One got its first glimpse into the future at Silverstone on Thursday when the new look car that will feature on the grid from next year got its first unveiling. These headline changes should in theory not just make racing closer between cars, but also make it easier to overtake given cars won’t lose as much balance following the disturbed air flow of a rival in front of them. The 2009 world champion Jenson Button was impressed when looking close up at the car for the first time, and while closer racing is predicted the Brit also thinks the new cars will be a bigger challenge to get used to. ‘The cars these days are so on edge you can’t get a slide.
