Charles Leclerc said he was “surprised” by a video shot by a fan which revealed how Lewis Hamilton went off close to where he was walking back from his stricken Ferrari during the German Grand Prix.
Leclerc and Hamilton crashed at turn 16 within a minute of each other when rain fell during the race.
By the time Hamilton arrived at the corner, Leclerc was walking away from his Ferrari and the Safety Car had been deployed.
Leclerc said there was little he could have done to prevent his crash because of the increase in rain at the corner.
