Las Vegas Grand Prix is approved to use the famed Strip until 2032 as local lawmakers look to make the F1 race a permanent fixture in Sin City: ‘We anticipate a lifetime in partnership’

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, provided all the requisite paperwork is in order and local government gives its approval. That’s the case with Formula One, which has been granted permission to run the Las Vegas Grand Prix on the city’s famed Strip until the year 2032. What’s more, the move creates the possibility of turning the Las Vegas Grand Prix into a permanent fixture on the city’s increasingly crowded sports calendar. The 3.8-mile race will include several of Vegas’ many landmarks, including the Bellagio fountains, Mandalay Bay, Caesars Palace, and the new ball-shaped MSG Sphere. And unlike other F1 races, Vegas’ will take place on Saturday evening as opposed to Sunday afternoon, when most events typically take place. The race in Vegas is expected to be the most expensive sporting event on Formula One’s agenda next year.
